Immigration Adviser or Immigration Lawyer

Unlike most immigration lawyers who usually practice in other areas of law and might only do a few visa applications, Immigration Advisers specialise in immigration law.

All Licensed advisers are overseen by the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA). The IAA was set up to promote and protect the interests of people receiving New Zealand immigration advice. To get more information about IAA, click here.

The purpose of the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007 is to protect migrants and enable you to receive accurate, ethical advice from licensed professionals. A licensed immigration adviser must abide by an established Code of Conduct, which covers: written agreements, confidentiality, client funds, disputes and all other important matters pertaining to you as the client.
